ENTREVISTA UNIVERSAL

(English below)

Queen- Live at Wembley ’86

UNIVERSAL INTERVIEW

Welcome to the universal interview, an interview looking for a common point among the artists we are interviewing, touching the psichology and philosophy of each member, each detail that made possible your band. This is not a normal interview, there’s much more in here.

  1. It’s always a pleasure to meet and support bands like yours, so please, in the name of Rock, please present yourselves. (Who’s answering this interview)

Hello, I’m Rania, pianist of the rock band Zero 2 Nothing

  1. In these questions I encourage you to present your album (or upcoming album) and guide us to the concept in order to create such a piece of art, how did you do it and what are you expecting of it?

Our debut album is out on 26/2. Nine songs of rock genre. We composed our music without any restrictions or “genre titles”, and this came out to be pretty unique. In the same album you will find rock, stoner, progressive, heavy metal and even atmospheric moments. We really hope you will enjoy it and we wish to play this live as soon as possible.

  1. I always ask about the new album you are presenting but I would like to stay away from the script and ask you the person of the band you would choose to go to a lonely island with.

Hahahaha, what a question. However it’s quite simple to answer. I would take Chris the bassist of course, my husband.

  1. What makes your propposal special, different from the others and unique?

Our music mixes together many aspects of rock music. In the same album we have stoner/rock/progressive elements mixed with some classical and heavy riffs. I believe it’s hard not to find one song that suits you, even if you are extra picky.

  1. A good opus always includes interesting topics. Please let us know more about the lyrical content of your album.

The main concept behind “Limits” is about humanity’s position on the subject of immigration, the depletion of the planet’s goods and the addiction of abuses resulting from television commercials. Many stories that pop out of real life events etc

  1. Analogical or digital? What do you preffer?

I’m more of the old school I would say, so analogical.

  1. Album covers have always something to say and define genres… Let us know the meaning behind your album covers and the designers who created it.

The designer is Vaggelis Petikas. Based on the band’s ideas (and believe me there were many) he managed to combine the band’s name with the album’s title into what we believe is a very artistic outcome.

  1. Stage presence has been always important in the Rock genre, is this an important point for you and how much do you care of it?

It’s the most important part!!! You see the reactions because of your music, the feelings that each listener has, the vibe…Hope we will soon live this again.

  1. Until which point can yourselves be driven by madness?

I’m usually very calm with any situation, so I haven’t found this point yet. The rest of the band though have the required amount of madness hahahaha.

  1. It’s common knowledge that in life you need to know failure in order to sceed. What do you think about it?

I agree. We learn from our mistakes and this provides us the strength and maturity to move forward and improve ourselves.

  1. It’s clear that you are marked by a concrete music genre, but what did you see in it to dedicate your life to it?

I really like the vibe rock music puts you in, but I believe in the end I’m not dedicating my life to any specific genre. I play what I like to hear, if in the future I would like to play a different genre I will try it without second thoughts. It’s music, so I believe you need to be open minded.

  1.  What would you say to your pasy “I” if you could speak to yourselves?

Keep doing what you like with the dedication you are doing it. Even if you don’t succeed, the journey will be full of experiences.

  1. … If you would have to to dedicate your talent to ther music genre, which one would you choose?

Taking into account that I have been in the classical genre before rock, I think that the next step would have been Jazz.

  1.  What is the philosophy that guides you as human beings, not so human and make you be the way you are?

I always try to approach people with good feelings. I believe if everyone treated each other with kindness and respect, the world would be a little bit better.

  1.  Is there a chance for revolution as humanity or is it too late?

I believe we are very close to the “too late” situation. There is a lot that have to change in so many aspects. But let’s hope we will surprise ourselves.

  1. From all your setlist, Which is the song that best define you as a band and which one can’t be out of the setlist?

From our material I would say that “Zero 2 Nothing” song defines us and I think “Running Deep in me” is a song that always must be in our setlist.

  1.  What are the normal things in life that give sense to it for you?

My daughter.

  1.  How do you work your opus from scratch and how is the mixing and mastering process?

Usually Chris and Bill bring the main riff ideas and I’m adding the piano/synth part, while Teo is working on the Lyrics and Voicings. It’s a fine tuned clock process, each one has its place, so the mixing and mastering I believe is simple.

  1. Van Halen always asked for a boul of M&M in their backstage with no brown color. So, what is the thing that can’t be missed in your backstage?

Jokes that remove any anxiety.

  1.  Society is completely polarized in political matters, how is this affecting your day after day?

Even if we don’t like it, politics really affect each one’s everyday life, especially this period of time, with the pandemic and the financial crisis still going on.

  1.  What do you think is the biggest mistake you have ever made in your musical career and would never do again?

Practice all day long before a concert. Now I know that on the same day, you just relax and everything will go smoothly.

  1.  Sure you have a special show you carefully remember, please tell us about it.

As a listener, 3-4 years ago on a Muse concert in an open festival. Insane experience.

  1. A book or a comic that is very significant for you.

The Island, by Victoria Hislop.

  1. What its the album of your life?

Queen- Live at Wembley ’86

  1.  Tell us about a music festival that touched your soul.

I live in Greece, so you can understand that any Open festival during summer here, is a must.

  1. A dream to pursue?

Live our lives to the fullest and add a new experience each day!

  1. A song that gives you chills

The Show must go on by Queen

  1. Beer or Whiskie?

Neither. I’m a wine person.

  1.  Playstation or X-Box?

X-Box.

  1. A sin to fulfill?

In normal days I would choose sloth, just sit home for a week and relax with family and friends. But since we’ve seen enough of our home this last year due to covid-19, I really look forward to getting our lives back and live again in those crazy rhythms we all had! It seems like a sin these days to do simple things such as going for a drink with friends or make a trip.

  1. Do you think electric sheep dream about robots?

What is wrong with you hahahaha, I really don’t have a clue. Maybe we should ask them.

  1.  Your favorite instrument apart from the standards?

Cello. I really love the sound of it.

  1. LP, Cassete or CD?? In words of the Ghostbusters, choose and die.

LP.

  1. This question is a must for me: I want you to confess a story from your life on the road that can be told and another one that can’t be told. Don’t run away from this question …

I will answer based on the music path we are on. A story has to do with the initial band (which was a cover band), but it’s very funny that although we created a cover band we all wanted to create our own music. So when the idea was dropped on the table we all felt relieved and agreed. For the one that can’t be told, and must be there to understand it, is that we are very energetic and high tempered when we are at studio, almost explosive. Although this seems strange to someone outside the band, this is great for us, since we take all the pressure and anxiety out in the studio without any limitations. It’s a band code.

  1. What makes you angry in the music scene and what would you change?

I would like a music scene that is more united and collaborating with each other, especially to new bands that need their music to be heard.

  1.  How do you do to survive and self-finance yourselves as a band?

Each one of us has their standard day job. I personally am a software developer.

  1. What are your expectations for the future, something planned when the current situation is over?

We are in several discussions for live festival IF this situation is changed.

  1. Finishing this non conventional interview, when the courtain falls, please let us know your feelings when the show is over.

Never though of that before, guess if you are pleased of what you have made, it’s just the next step.

  1. Here we finish the universal interview in this new chapter and leave you some space to write something for your fans.

We hope you enjoy our first album and really rock with our songs. We long for the situation to change so we can also see you soon in a live concer
